Hike Mongolia organize fixed date group hiking tours which can be joined by individuals, couples or several friends together. The advantages of joining a group trek are that you can enjoy the companionship of other like-minded people, as well as sharing the costs of transportation and staff.

During the 2008 season we have several scheduled group vacations in Mongolia, suitable for people of different abilities and interests. The treks and tours which include more walking are as follows:

Mount Kharkhiraa Trek 17 - 29 June 2008 in Western Mongolia 13 days hiking vacation including 8 continuous days of trekking up to altitudes of nearly 3000 metres in the remote Altai mountains. The trek is graded as "moderate" and requires a good level of fitness.

Total Eclipse of the Sun: 24 July - 05 August 2008 in Western Mongolia. This lovely 6 day trek using pack camels and local guides ends in line for a complete view of this unusual phenomenon. A narrow belt near the Mongolian / Russian / Chinese border is likely to be one of the best places in the world to see the eclipse.

Naadam Festival 06 - 14 July 2008 is a nine day holiday in Central Mongolia, the highlight of which is the annual sporting festival which we will join in one of the small towns of Arkhangai province. This trip is not a continuous trek, but allows time for individuals to enjoy short day hikes at each of the beautiful places where we stay.

Walking tours in wild and remote areas of Mongolia offer a great opportunity for you to experience so much more of the fascinating culture as you travel for days with our local guides and horsemen, and pass by nomadic herding families who often invite us in for a cup of tea. Sometimes people travelling along the same trail join us for a while, fascinated to learn about the foreigners who are enjoying their land.
